Private Events at Three Acre Farm
At Three Acre Farm, we understand the beauty and joy flowers can bring to an event. While we don't typically host private events, we're open to considering special requests! Here are some important details and considerations to help you plan your visit.
Timing is Everything
By mid-summer, temperatures rise quickly. Flower harvesting typically starts at 7:00 am and ends by 9:30 am to avoid the heat. Flowers and people alike tend to wilt under the intense sun. Heat stroke and overheating are real concerns. We want everyone to enjoy their time on the farm safely and comfortably. Events are best either in the early morning or evening hours.
We want your visit to Three Acre Farm to be a memorable and enjoyable experience. If you're considering a private event, please keep these guidelines in mind to ensure the best possible time for you and your guests. For further inquiries, please contact us.
Private Flower Cutting Events
Best Time: Morning is the best time to cut flowers! In the summer season, we recommend an 8:30 am start time to finish around 10:00 am. Limited evening hours may be available upon special request.
Why: Flowers cut in the morning stay fresher longer. Also, mornings are cooler for everyone (flowers and humans!). Heat stroke and overheating are real concerns. We want everyone to enjoy their time on the farm safely and comfortably.
Details:
$75 per adult
Minimum of 10 people and max of 20.
All adult attendees are included in the headcount, regardless of cutting flowers or not.
Adults may bring ONE child (12 and under) with them for no added charge.
Children (12 and under) are not permitted to use snips.
13+ are considered adults
Attendees may bring their own snacks and beverages.
The Flower Cutting Event includes:
Walking tour of the farm and gardens
Flowers (that you harvest from the field, plus 3 pre-cut “Specialty Blooms” per person, such as Dahlias, Eucalyptus, Lilies, Lisianthus, Sunflowers, etc… depending on what’s in season)
Snips to borrow to cut your blooms
Mason jars for taking your flowers home (you keep the jar!)
Tables for resting/setting up your snacks and beverages
Porta Potty and access to running water for washing hands, filling jars, etc. (water is non-potable/not for drinking)
Payment:
$150 non-refundable deposit due upon booking to reserve your spot
Remaining balance due 24 hours before your Private Event. Once we have your final headcount, we will send you an invoice you can pay online.
Minimum total for Private Flower Cutting Event is $750. Total increases depending on number of attendees. Ex. 10 people minimum x $75 = $750 - $150 deposit = $600 due on day of event
In case of severe weather:
We are farmers and ALWAYS have our eye on the weather conditions. We do not cancel events due to light/scattered rain (bring your raincoat!), but we WILL cancel for lightning, tornadoes and excessive heat advisories (we haven’t ever had to cancel because of heat for morning events, but we have for evening events).
If Three Acre Farm decides to cancel the event due to severe weather conditions (tornado, thunderstorm, excessive heat advisory, etc), your payment will be refunded, unless you want to reschedule.
We do our best to reschedule your event, but cannot guarantee we will have availability. If we’re unable to reschedule, your payment will be refunded.
Other Info:
We recommend sturdy closed toed shoes/boots, NOT sandals. This is a working farm and the ground is uneven in many places. We also have free range chickens, which means free range chicken poo ;) Watch your step!
Dress for the weather. Layers (and maybe even a raincoat) are always a good idea, especially Michigan’s unpredictable weather.
Children must be closely supervised AT ALL TIMES and are only allowed in our flower fields (not in our backyard or barnyard). Do not allow children to climb fences or chase chickens.
Private Farm Tours
Best Time: Preferably earlier in the day to avoid the heat. In the summer season, we recommend an 8:30 am start time to finish around 10:00 am. Limited evening hours may be available upon special request.
Why: To ensure a comfortable experience without the intense midday sun. Heat stroke and overheating are real concerns. We want everyone to enjoy their time on the farm safely and comfortably.
